LI: Students will learn that it’s okay to try new things and to ask for help when needed.

For PB4L, we are reminding ourselves why it is important to attempt to do new things and to ask for help. This session encourages students and people so that they can continue doing what they find interest in or so they can improve their academic performance.

It is important to attempt new things because you can identify which activites you find enjoyable and which are not your hobby. 

It is important to ask for help because the problem will be stuck in your head and you won’t get ahead.

I enjoyed doing this task because its important to know these skills to help you with your learning, and to try new things even if you don’t think you can do it. 

LI: to design a ‘be positive’ poster to encourage others.

This week for PB4L, we have been learning about the positive attitude, and creating a list of positive words or phrases to encourage yourself and other like positive quotes for others, having these quotes also means having encouragement towards others. Having postitive attitude towards learning allows you to have a good mind-set, respectful to others, and focused. This would give students with their learning and improve on things that they are working on.

One of the quotes that we had was prioritise yourself, as its important to not always think about others but yourself. It also includes focusing on yourself and beliving that you are a great person, instead of judging you from peoples social media posts.

I enjoyed doing this activity because most of these quotes come in handy, and these quotes relate to us when things are going hard.

LI: why it’s important to wear the uniform correctly. 

This week for PB4L, we have been learning about the importance and how it shows that you are ready for work or school, also showing respect, and representing the place you have come from in public, or anywhere.

Seeing the different types of uniforms divides up which people goes to the different group, and it allows everyone to easily identify the people (e.g. if there are two schools who went to the zoo at the same day, and get mixed up, it is easy for adults to divide the group into two, and collect the right students).

I enjoyed doing this activity because it allowed me to  have a better understanding on why its important to wear uniforms correctly.

LI. To use manners and show respect to adults and visitors.

This weeks PB4L lesson was about using manners towards adults and visitors.

Using manners is important because it allows others to treat you the way you want to be treated, and allows others to build their confidence by talking to the teachers, but it also shows the respect value which is important at our school.

It is important to show respect to the adults and visitors since it could show them that they welcomed to the school. There are many expected ways we can be respectful to adults/visitors. You can hold doors open for adults as a way of showing your respect to them. Using appropriate language around visitors and adults should be automatic. Some ways to speak formally in front of adults is to use manners although you should always use manners at all times. When a visitor is speaking, always make sure to listen and look at them to prove that you are listening to them.

This activity was important for all of us because sometimes we forget and we need to remind ourselves to do the right thing.
